Greg - Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree with most of them. I also add a "lunch" test. Lunch test is simply to see if the team and I can have an enjoyable conversation and appreciate each other's company. After all, we will be spending lots of time together.
Another little anecdote -- I could not get myself to hire a person who would not clean up after coffee or snacks...
